The W660i Walkman music phone is a 3G capable mobile handset which comes in a choice of two colours which include a striking rose red & stylish record black coloured casing. The handset is a solid bar type design handset which comes with high quality music & imaging features as well as fast connectivity capabilities. The Sony Ericsson W660i Walkman® phone provides the user with the perfect combination of music, 3G speed & highly usable features.

The S500i compared to most of the slide phones are much smaller and though it wasn't the slimmest phone in the market (you should check out the Samsung range), it was pretty awesome. The colour however was a little disappointing when the slick black case teamed up with the green.

The handset is easy to hold in a single hand, as it measures 102mm in height, 46mm in width & 14.5mm in thickness. The W660i weighs 93 grams which gives the handset a solid & sturdy feel.

The display is a 262k-colour TFT delivering 176 x 220 pixels resolution (less detailed than the W880i's). Under this is a directional navigation pad and softkeys that are the hub of the W660i's control system

The user can enjoy taking photos & recording video on their W660i thanks to a high quality 2 megapixel camera feature. The built in camera allows the user to capture all those fun moments in either photo or video format & the camera feature has direct interaction with the messaging features on the Sony Ericsson W660i. The camera feature comes with a dedicated camera menus which allows the user to select different photo options & store the photos with ease. The 2 megapixel camera comes with a 2.5 digital zoom feature & a photo light. The user can send their photos to a picture blog site which allows the user to share their photos with all their friends & family easily. The video clips feature allows the user to capture those fun moments in their day in full colour & with moving actions. The user can record, play & stream video footage on their W660i, which provides the user with fun imaging features on their mobile handset.

Although it's not a Walkman phone, the S500i does have a good quality music player, with support for Bluetooth stereo headsets. The built-in memory is small (12 Mbytes) and can store a handful of MP3 songs only, but you can buy a memory card to expand the storage to 1 Gbyte - enough for around 250 songs. Transferring music (and other data) between the phone and a PC is very easy using the USB connection, with drag and drop convenience. You can plug in compatible headphones, or use a Bluetooth stereo headset if you prefer.

The W660i comes with a 512MB memory stick micro (M2), allowing you to store as many as 470 songs (eAAC+ format). Memory is expandable to 1GB which means you can't throw away your iPod just yet.

The W660i is a UMTS 2100 and GPRS 900 / 1800 / 1900 device.

The Sony Ericsson W660i Walkman phone comes with an instant email service which allows the user to receive emails directly to their mobile handset. The phone comes with SMS text messaging & MMS multimedia messaging which allows the user to create, send & receive messages. The SMS message service allows the user to create a message containing text & symbols. The MMS message can contain text with either a photo or video clip which provides the user with a fun way to share their photos & video clips with compatible MMS users.

The phone comes with a selection of connectivity options which includes a USB cabled connection with fast port & Bluetooth® connectivity which provides a wireless connection between two compatible devices. The Bluetooth® wireless connection allows the user to connect to other Bluetooth® compatible devices across a range of up to ten metres.
