Features     &     Reviews
Phone :

The Sony Ericsson J120i is a cool phone with a very attractive sleek and slim design. This incredible phone has some great features that are truly appealing to anybody who looks at it for the first time. The J120i is absolutely amazing in looks. It has a very simple yet stylish designs.

Size :

The J120i weighs only seventy five grams including the fitted battery. The overall size of the casing is 17mm in depth, 99mm in height & 44mm wide which makes it a slim & small mobile handset. The Sony Ericsson J120i comes in a sleek night black coloured casing which provides a sleek look to the design of the handset.

The user keypad, call keys & navigation tool are large in size which makes text input & navigation easy for the user. The J120i comes from the same range as the Sony Ericsson J110i which is another stylish phone with basic but essential features.

Display :

The elegant handset has come with 65K colour compatibility to offer attractive images on the screen. You can expect realistic images with the help of 96 x 64 pixel resolution.

Battery :

Standard battery, Li-Ion
StandBy Time Up to 400 h
Talk Time Up to 9 h

The handset utilizes 900 mAh Li-Pol cell - the BST-37. As the manufacturer claims, it is capable of keeping handset alive for up to 400 hours in stand by and up to 9 hours in talk mode. In conditions of Russian networks the handset lasted for about 4-5 days at about 20 minutes of calls per day. It takes the device a fraction less then 2 hours to charge from empty to full.

Multimedia :

RDS support for FM-radio is getting to be par for the course even for such deeply budget solutions, in fact it is Sony Ericsson’s trademark. The other matter is that for the target audience there is probably no need in such technology, it is only an amenity thrown in for good measure. The Radio is capable of working in background mode - in this case the information on selected frequency is displayed on the screen. Up to 20 radio stations can be stored in the memory, auto-tuning is available, or you can track radio stations manually. The radio can be listened in handsfree mode, but a plugged in headset is always a must. Setting it off against the company’s senior models the way radio is implemented is not the most gratifying out there, its sensitivity seems relatively low, unwanted noises interfere on regular basis. But I can’t say this radio module doesn’t work, it just requires better reception conditions. This serves as another proof of its ODM roots

Networking :

The Sony Ericsson J120i comes with dual band technology which works over GSM 900 & GSM 1800 networks & will automatically switch between network bands. The phone comes with fast port connectivity which allows the user to connect their mobile handset to the mobile phone charger & other compatible accessories.

Games :

The handset comes pre-installed with two games – Ping Pong and Insect Shooting.

Special Feature :

The phone comes with a text message service which allows the user to communicate with other mobile phone users. The text message feature provides the user with a long text input facility which means the user does not have to restrict the amount of text sent to their contacts. The text message service comes complete with a predictive text feature which allows the user to use fewer click to type a word, as the full word is predicted for the user.

The Sony Ericsson J120i comes with phone book feature which is easy to manage & allows the user to store up to two hundred contacts. The J120i comes with preloaded games which allows the user to enjoy a fun gaming experience, as soon as they unpack their new handset. The user can enjoy a game where ever they want & when ever they have the opportunity to enjoy a game on their mobile phone. The user can take calls over the handsfree speaker phone which provides the user with a handsfree call experience allowing the user to get on with other tasks. The J120i comes with a conference call function which allows the user to enjoy a meeting type call with more than two contacts per call. The user can make good use of the day to day features which include an alarm clock facility, built in calculator & a timer feature.
