Features & Reviews

Phone : The Nokia 5700 comes in a choice of three colors – black, red and grey. But regardless of the variant you pick, the swiveling section as well as the top part will always retain white lacquered plastic. It is pretty smudge-resistant and hard, which makes small scuffs and scratches keep low profile on it. But if the device receives some damage after falling down, a scratch like this will surely pick up dirt and dust in no time. The color itself is indicated by the display frame and also the side plates and the rear. This phone has some very good features and functions but it is getting overlooked and under rated because it does not have an 'N' in front. Seriously, it has a better processor than most nokia hips, better sounds and also brilliant screen. Primarily, this phone is a music phone. |
Size : The 5700 Xpress Music weighs 128 gram which is a good weight for a 3G capable smartphone. The phone has a solid & chunky feel when in the users hand which measures 17.3mm thick, 50.5mm wide & 108.2mm high Dimensions 108 x 50 x 17 mm, 84 cc Weight: 115 g |
Display : 2.2" 16M colors, QVGA (240x320 pixel) resolution. |
Camera : Nokia 5700 sports a 2.0 megapixel camera, while data is taken care of with UMTS high-speed connectivity. Camera facing away: this position automatically starts the camera application, and lets you photograph or video objects in front of you. If you're already using the phone's video player app, twisting to this position automatically changes the video to horizontal full screen mode, and it's physically possible to stand the 5700 on its side in this position so you can watch the video more easily. Camera facing forward: this position also automatically starts the camera app, and is intended for self-portraits and for videophone calls. This position also lets you stand the 5700 horizontally on its side so you can talk to the video camera without having to hold the phone. |
Battery : Battery life is what you'd expect from a smartphone, and will vary wildly from one user to another depending on what they do and how much they do it. I used the 5700 as my main phone and found I had to recharge it every couple of days. |
Multimedia : The Nokia 5700 is another step towards development of XpressMusic and it’s a consistent step, the company isn’t looking to come up with a powerhouse in short term, instead, it keeps improving this direction little by little. The major event around the Nokia 5700 would be Philips headphones that are now shipping with Nokia-branded phones. For some reason this fact has been overlooked nearly by everyone, who wrote about the device or the company’s development strategy, even though it is a very crucial facet that has much to do with how Nokia’s product are perceived. Music Player:MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/WMA player/ FM Radio |
Memory : There is a possibility to extend the memory of the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic with a microSD memory card. There’s a choice of different cards with different speeds and capacities. The SanDisk 2GB microSD memory cards provides the stability and speed of the SanDisk cards. You could also choose for the 2GB microSD Memory Kit. This way, you won’t just have a microSD but also a microSD adapter and microSD to SD adapter. There are various possibilities to transfer the data from the microSD to a computer. A good choice for this would be the SanDisk Mobilemate SD +5 in 1 card reader; it is a very small device and thus easy to bring along. |
Networking : The 5700 is a Quadband (850/900/1800/1900) GSM and WCDMA/UMTS (2100) 3G phone, and as far as calls go it's up to the usual high Nokia standards. |
Games : The games coming included with the 5700 are Marble and City Bloxx. Around ten extra games can be uploaded via Downloads and Nokia Zine. |
